Mike Bowler About My self

I was born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in 1957.  My father went over in World War II with the RAF and met my mother out there.  I got my first job as an Ambulance Driver/Paramedic which I did for 5 years.  I did my National Service for 18 months in the Rhodesian Army.  In June 1980 I moved with my wife and son to the UK.  I worked as a taxi driver for 18 years then as a courier.  I now work as a technician in Staffordshire University’s Media Centre.

I have always been into knives from a very young age.  In 2007 I started to collect production knives, then I found out I could buy kits and started to make these knives.  I also started collecting custom knives from the UK, the first one of these that I bought was a Shing Bushie, I then bought a Shing Slippy. witch I have soled now. I have just got my first Allan Wood Scout.  I have 2 Guy Stainthorp Necker’s already, and a Shadow on order which I hope to pick up early this year.  I also have an Allan Wood Bushie .I also have a Bernie Garland Folding Bushie.I also own a Enzo Bushie that I made and Tom Stratton re handled and did some fine file work on .  I also collect production slippy’s.

I have a very good friend in the USA called Tom Stratton who has modified six knives for me in the past year, with file work and re-handling. Some of Toms work is in my Gallery under Mod Knives.

All my leather work is made by Geoff Wood From the UK.
